Today is for you.
You hold a standard for your kids you would never lower. You show up. You provide. You carry what needs carrying. It is the clearest form of leadership most men ever practice, and it runs for decades.
But underneath everything you carry is the thing that lets you keep carrying it: the physical foundation it all runs on.
The energy to be patient at the end of a long day. The strength to keep up, to lift, to play, to not be sidelined. The years on the far end, the ones where you are still here and still steady for people who will need you long after they stop being small. That is not vanity. It is capacity. It is the difference between being present and being present and able.
Fatherhood is sustained leadership in its purest form, and physical capacity is the infrastructure underneath it, the same as everywhere else you lead. The body is not separate from the father. It is what lets him keep showing up.
No ask today. Just this: the standard you hold for them is worth holding for the body that gets to be there for them.
Happy Father’s Day.

P.S. Not every reader here is a father. But nearly all of us love one, were raised by one, or are raising one. Today is for them, and for everyone who helps hold them up.
